“The entire Gershon family is appreciative of the professionalism, imagination, creativity, AND organization of my Mother’s Sutton Place apartment. The help in moving my mother's lace enabled a quick sale. Our ability to secure more than the asking price for the apartment is in no small way a testament to your contribution. Thank you.
“To Whom It May Concern, I write in hearty recommendation of Barbara Brock. Barbara was engaged to renovate and refresh and “stage” the Park Avenue maisonnette of my late parents, William F. and Patricia Buckley. She did nothing less than a magnificent job over the course of the five month project. Into the bargain, she was a delight to deal with: omni-competent, professional and always willing to go the extra mile. I could not have been more pleased with the result of their labors, and recommend her services enthusiastically and without reservation.”
The best person to help you with getting your house in shape is Barbara Brock of Sold With Style (formerly A Proper Place) . She is a home stager. I worked with her on 3 homes on the Today Show and we sold all of them. I know she will give you expert advice. She has helped hundreds in the same boat. Good Luck. All the best,
Barbara Corcoran, Founder, Corcoran Group
Applause, applause!! Our spacious co-op in a lovely pre-war building on Park Avenue had been on the market for about nine months, with numerous showings, and no sale. Barbara Brock came over to see the apartment...and voila!….in a flash she had a firm grip on the situation!
Barbara made specific recommendations about what to do……furniture to delete, walls to paint, etc.; and, just as important, what not to do…..gut the bathrooms, for example.
A million thanks!!
A native Texan, Barbara Brock earned a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University, and later, a Design Degree from Parson's School of Design in New York, where she migrated in 1989. In Manhattan, she worked for celebrated interior designer Mark Hampton and Harry Schnaper and credits her roles with them as the foundation upon which her skills as a design entrepreneur are built: project organization, design history, and effecting solutions in time-sensitive circumstances.
Switching gears, she became a Professional Organizer and is Past President of NAPO (Nationoal Association Professional Organizers). Given her background in interior design and organization, she morphed into Home Staging in 2003. Not least among her accolades was the celebrated Barbara Corcoran -- founder of Corcoran Group Real Estate -- who became a champion of Barbara and her company, both for its staging expertise and, more so, for that rare combination of courtesy, graciousness, and flexibility accorded to her clients, which Brock mandates as corporate policy.
In tandem, she creates products based on organizing and paints. Being mathematically inclined, all she do is to paint dots or straight lines. Perhaps this is boring to most, but gives her great joy.
